Leadership Academy

Lead with Curiosity, Courage and Ambition

The No More Ifs Or Buts Management Academy focuses on emotionally intelligent leaders, giving them the skills for optimum success.
It empowers leaders to be curious, courageous, and ambitious, equipping them to work better with multiple stakeholder groups and make a positive impact. And it demonstrates what it takes to be a leader, guiding them in the development of their own path to get there.

The personal assessment tool DiSC is used to profile delegates entering the Academy. Their results are then integrated throughout the programme by building their understanding of the following factors:

  • What their profile means
  • How they can use this information to communicate more effectively with clients and other key stakeholders

The Academy is broken down into 10 modules:

    1. Being a leader

Leadership is a behaviour, not a position. This module helps leaders operate at their optimum, by understanding what being a leader means, and how they can be even more of a leader, even if it doesn’t come naturally. In addition, it explores different leadership styles, and how different behaviours are reflective various leadership types.

    2. Insights

Who are you as a leader? Why are you the way you are? Where do you want to go? What are your leadership goals? What are the values that guide your approach to your job? The market-leading leadership diagnostic in this module helps leaders answer these questions.

    3. Strengthen your EQ

Emotional intelligence and connection come easily for some, while it’s a work in progress for others. This module delves into what leaders need to understand about themselves, supporting their understanding of how to connect and create impact with others.

    4. Coaching as a leadership style

Adopting a coaching mindset is a catalyst for expansion from being a manager who organises to a leader who inspires. This module examines the difference between leading, managing, mentoring, and coaching. Additionally, it demonstrates how building coaching skills can help transform a fixed mindset into a growth mindset. As a result, leaders are equipped to develop their own set of ‘killer questions’ and improve their listening skills.

    5. Learning and therefore guiding

This module discusses the ‘what and how’ roadmap, exploring learning models, learning cycles, situational leadership, and psychological contracting. These terms sound very academic. Yet they equip leaders to identify motivators and use this to fire up teams.

    6. Connecting through communication

Some conversations are important to have, despite the potential for conflict and negative emotions. That said, not all potentially acrimonious conversations need to be had at all. This module helps leaders decide which difficult conversations they need to have and how to best approach these conversations?

    7. Being an authentic leader

Authentic leaders must know who they are at their core. It’s fundamental when having to manage potential pressure points between their values and what’s expected of them by multiple stakeholders with different priorities. This module delves into what authenticity means and the importance of leaders being the best version of themselves, not someone else.

    8. Setting your strategy

This module addresses team development. It looks at how leaders can understand where the business needs to be, and develop their team to the desired place. In addition, it focuses on creating a structured and strategic approach to personal development, besides the development of the entire team. This includes identifying cultural and skills gaps, and leveraging development and recruitment to plug them.

    9. Managing the complexities of stakeholders

The pressure is always on for leaders to please everyone. This can’t always be done. But leaders can learn how to manage stakeholders in the most appropriate, effective, and easiest way. This module highlights how to map stakeholders and manage complex relationships. It also reviews preferred communication styles and effective approaches for managing and maximising stakeholder relationships.

    10. Managing your personal brand

Leaders are more successful when followers and peers know and understand what their core capabilities and goals are, and what they stand for. This module looks at how personal branding is a leadership tool that can have a major impact on ultimate leadership success.
