How have you found yourself in this situation?

Maybe you’ve been asked to speak at an event.  Been given a promotion.  Asked to lead on a new project.

What is this situation you’ve found yourself in that has made you feel like an imposter?

Now ask yourself, who put you there?

Who had faith in you that they entrusted you with something/somebody?

Do you trust and respect them?

When I was asked to be the Managing Director of an agency, I thought I was too young.  I was not experienced enough.  I was going to do something wrong.

Then I remembered how much I respected the other members of the board.

So I let myself trust them, even when I didn’t have faith in myself, I knew they did and I wanted to show that I respected their opinion, so I trusted their opinion.

Sometimes when you don’t quite have the faith in yourself, have faith in someone else and it’ll help to diminish those thoughts of being an imposter.

Don’t Just Be.  Be Confident.
